My family is part of a network of house churches and we're trying to figure out the missional aspect of that, esp being missional with our children.

I've always had a heart for ministry, and in the past few years that energy has turned toward spiritual formation for children (my own and the others who are part of our house church). I'm always glad to run across other moms with a similar understanding of church and discipleship. Looking forward to learning from you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-3843956407846856562010-09-11T19:36:53.849-07:002010-09-11T19:36:53.849-07:00wow..Amen!wow..Amen!These Three Kingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09145708956293037220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-10996609575927145362010-09-11T19:29:24.046-07:002010-09-11T19:29:24.046-07:00I am really excited about this. And I'm excited to hear that others feel there might be a need for the kind of book I'm working on. Kacie, I, too, wish there were more missional books for children. I was working on a prototype for a series called "God Cares..." about God's heart for different needs/people in the world. I don't know how old your kids are, but if you email me (see bottom of page) I can send you a copy of it as I'd love to get more feedback on the idea.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07718664238816531640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-91715468238531489592010-01-04T21:47:31.987-08:002010-01-04T21:47:31.987-08:00so glad to have found your blog and really looking...so glad to have found your blog and really looking forward to reading more! it's funny...I told a friend about a month ago that I wished someone would write a book about missional parenting - and now here you are! I am also on the hunt to find Christian children's books that have a missional bent (love God and love your neighbor). Do you know of any good ones?Kaciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05843495545244713099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-39285628634228674072010-01-01T18:01:54.592-08:002010-01-01T18:01:54.592-08:00I'm very excited to read your book! I so want my kids to be aware of what is beyond us and see the world as God sees the world. We are slowly making lifestyle changes and humbling ourselves to be more available to the Lord's work. Thank you and keep writing!Dunham 2008 Roadtriphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06299587036212627892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-53026725666234990302009-12-12T07:16:37.684-08:002009-12-12T07:16:37.684-08:00For a number of years, we have been feeling called...For a number of years, we have been feeling called to change our family Christmas gift "habits" and establish more meaningful gifting traditions. As an individual whose love language is giving, this has been a challenge. This is the first year I feel I am actually doing it better. Three guidelines are helping: 1. One gift per person. 2. Gifts should be handmade, secondhand, or charitable. 3. My husband and I challenged each other to give each other meaningful gifts that cost no money. I wish I could share my ideas of gifts for him, but he might read this!Kathehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00107170976035194297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-13876738854821169452009-12-10T00:29:10.549-08:002009-12-10T00:29:10.549-08:00Humbled by this post, Helen. John and I are not giving each other gifts this year, either; we opted to donate instead to a local ministry to the homeless. Of course, it's easier for us now that our kids are all grown -- I applaud you and Brian for imparting this wisdom to your sons NOW. Blessings to you all!Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14995921892317661342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7360408707446661217.post-24854771900842578662009-11-25T21:32:34.490-08:002009-11-25T21:32:34.490-08:00We also have to be careful to not use God as a cov...We also have to be careful to not use God as a cover to justify our own motives. For instance, "God can use my son to have more influence if he's in an Ivy League school; so I need to be in a good school district" )I only share because I fall prey to this tactic myself. Great blog Helen! I'm looking forward to continuing to read it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06961952405908063352noreply@blogger.com
